Islandbridge
A quiet, well-designed one-bedroom apartment on the banks of the River Liffey in Islandbridge, Dublin 8. The apartment is set in a modern new-build directly beside the river, two minutes on foot from the Irish War Memorial Gardens and five minutes from the Islandbridge Gate into Phoenix Park — one of the largest urban parks in Europe. The open-plan living and kitchen area features a fully fitted matte-black kitchen with breakfast bar, a large corner sofa and generous natural light from floor-height windows with tree views. The bedroom has a dedicated workspace desk, built-in wardrobes and a full-length mirror. Bathroom is a walk-in shower room with rainfall head. High-speed Wi-Fi, Bosch oven, Nespresso machine and washer/dryer in unit. Bus to the city centre (15 minutes) stops at the end of the road. Heuston Station is a twelve-minute walk. A calm, considered base for a longer Dublin stay.
Islandbridge sits on the south bank of the River Liffey, on the western edge of Dublin 8. The apartment is a two-minute walk from the Irish War Memorial Gardens — one of the most beautiful and least-visited green spaces in Dublin — and five minutes on foot from Phoenix Park, where 1,750 acres of open parkland, running trails and cycling routes are free and always open.
The number 25 and 66 buses stop at the end of the road and run to the city centre in around fifteen minutes. Heuston Station is a twelve-minute walk, with direct trains to Cork, Limerick, Galway and Kilkenny. The Red Line Luas (Heuston stop) connects to the city centre in five minutes.
Kilmainham village is ten minutes on foot and has a good independent coffee scene — Cobblestone Coffee and The Fumbally (fifteen minutes by bike) are the local favourites. For evenings, The Belfry on Bow Lane and An Caislean on Old Kilmainham Road are solid neighbourhood options. Portobello and Camden Street are twenty minutes by bike and well worth the ride for dinner.
IMMA — the Irish Museum of Modern Art — is a ten-minute walk through the Royal Hospital Kilmainham grounds, which are free to enter and worth exploring in their own right. Kilmainham Gaol is five minutes away by bus or taxi. The Phoenix Park Magazine Fort, the Wellington Monument and the Dublin Zoo are all within the park boundary.
The apartment has a dedicated workspace desk with task lamp and high-speed Wi-Fi. For days when you want a change of scene, The Fumbally in the Liberties is the best café workspace in the area — large tables, good coffee, no pressure. Co-working in the city centre is 25 minutes by bus.
